Hermitage Friends in the Netherlands Foundation
Founded in 1994 in Amsterdam with Dr.Ernst Veen, Director of the New Church Museum, as Chairman, the Hermitage Friends in the Netherlands Foundation arranges numerous activities in support of the hermitage Museum including exchange visits between St.Petersburg and Amsterdam. The Foundation undertook a large fund-raising campaign, New Roof and Lighting for the Rembrandt Room of the Hermitage Museum. This US$ 1mln project enabled the Hermitage to repair the roof over the Rembrandt Gallery as well as restore the gallery and install new lighting. The American Friends of the State Hermitage Museum, Inc.
The American Friends of the State Hermitage Museum, Inc. is a non-profit corporation. It sponsors public education and fundraising programs in the United States in support of the Hermitage such as Hermitage Thursdays(meetings and lectures with the Hermitage curators), the annual lecture of the Director of the Hermitage Museum in New York, trips to St.Petersburg with special programs in the Hermitage Museum (such as Monday in the Hermitage), and benefit dinners and receptions. The State Hermitage Museum Foundation of Canada, Inc. The State Hermitage Museum Foundation of Canada, Inc. is a nonprofit institution founded in 1997 under federal laws and statutes for charitable organizations. The Canadian Foundation is headed by the former Govenor General of Canada, the Honourable Ramon John Hnatyshyn. The Board of the Foundation regularly consults the Director of the Hermitage to determine the priorities of the Museum.
