the Northern Black Sea coast. The earliest pieces date back to 2000 BC,
the latest - to the 4th century AD. The large collection of Greek and
Italian painted vases (15,000 pieces) and Etruscan art are famous far
outside Russia.
The beautiful collection of antique gems (engraved stones ) consists

Almost every kind of Roman sculpture
is on display in the museum: cult statues, reliefs, land decorative and
portrait sculptures. The 120 Roman sculptural portraits and the collection
of the Tanagra figurines (terracottas, Greece, 4th-3rd century BC) are
worthy of particular note. An important place is occupied by objects from
the excavations of Greek colonies and necropolises on the Northren Black

The collections of Greek gold, Greek fabrics of the 5th-4th centuries
