On October 26, 2000 the opening ceremony of the exhibition was held in the State Hermitage Museum. The exhibition features nearly 150 outstanding works of jewelry art created by the Saint Petersburg jewelers in the 18th and 19th centuries. The items on display come from the collections of the Winter Palace, the Imperial Hermitage and the nationalized collections of the Russian nobility.
The works of the modern Saint Petersburg jewelers are for the first time exhibited in the State Hermitage Museum.
